Hard to believe it's been over a month since I updated our site. Time has really flown by for us here. The boys have grown to 11 lb 2 oz and 12 lb 13 oz! As you look at the pictures, you can see how chubby their cheeks and legs are getting. I think we have all developed better muscle tone.
It's been a trying past month, and yet, we've experienced a lot of joy. It seemed like Christopher would be ready to come home in early November, but now we've had to reconcile to the fact that he won't be ready 'till after the New Year. Meanwhile, Corban has grown out of his need for Oxygen - AND out of all of our smaller clothes, as well! He has shown a lot of progress, and we hope that therapy will help him develop into a strong, intelligent little boy. A lot remains to be seen.
Because Christopher has had such a difficult time taking his own meals, he has just had an operation to insert a feeding tube into his stomach, which we will learn how to manage at home. And we hope that it won't take him long once he's home to start eating better so that he will no longer rely so much on tube feedings. Corban will also have a tube soon, so that he can come home and begin working on taking more consistent oral feeds as well.
Our Christmas will be spent mostly with the boys in the hospital, although we will be at church for a short service in the morning and later at the home of an elder of our church for a Christmas dinner with other church families.
We are so glad that we can celebrate this special time of year with miracles we have lived with. Our boys are SO precious to us. It is amazing to believe that our God, who knows pure Love, loved us so much that He was willing to send His single Son to earth where He knew that we did not know Love, and so His Son would be abused and die at our hands - though he would save us through that act. I will experience this time of year in a different way than ever before because of Christopher and Corban and because of our God who saw Ian and me through the events of their birth and life.
Thank you so much for thinking of us! And thanks to those from whom we've received packages and cards and letters - and meals. It all means so much to us! We honestly would not be able to withstand all that has happened without your support and Love.

Hi Panths and Panthlets!
We check up on you often and I was hoping that since you hadn't posted in a while that it was because you were too busy with the boys home. Ah well- we will keep praying that they can come home soon. Miss you guys! We have a couple weeks left before we move again (back to Illinois and cold weather).
Merry Christmas (or Mele Kalikimaka as they say here)!
Love,
Laura
All of your comments mean so much to us! It's great to hear from you, and I'll keep trying to post new pictures as they come.
